This year has been full of growth and challenges for Hongmili!
This year, Hongmili has been actively serving the familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) community by organizing public welfare activities, popularizing disease knowledge, building research and development laboratories, developing a lab report management mini-program, applying for the Scarecrow Guardian Program, and conducting first aid training, among other things, to ensure that FH people can have the same quality of life as ordinary people.
This year, Red Rice Grain brought together many FH patients who were once strangers and isolated, forming a warm family. They encouraged each other and shared their experiences when facing the disease, no longer panicking because of the illness, and had more courage and confidence to overcome it.

After the gift packages were mailed to the patients, we received many heartwarming messages of gratitude from them.

The most beautiful thing in the world is when love is reciprocated! This fervent emotion and deep trust are invaluable! They will be the driving force that propels us forward on our journey of public service.

Due to a severe lack of awareness of familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) in my country, clinicians rely on relatively limited diagnostic methods, leading to frequent misdiagnosis. Most FH patients are only diagnosed in middle age or after their first cardiovascular event, missing crucial early treatment opportunities. Early diagnosis and timely treatment before symptoms appear can significantly improve patient prognosis.

In 2020, Hongmili participated in the 99 Giving Day again. Through its influence and team efforts, it gathered 66 well-known figures from the medical and industry sectors, as well as people who love public welfare, to become guardian ambassadors. Through their sharing, forwarding, and appeals, the "Mili's Troubles" project raised a total of 125,057.97 yuan during the three days of the 99 Giving Day, with a total of 1,690 donations, of which 1,104 people participated in the "Donate Together" campaign.
Funds raised during the 2020 99 Giving Day will be used to support FH patients. The plan includes providing partial funding for lipid-lowering treatment for adults with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH) for one year; and providing 100 children with FH with one case of skim milk per month for one year.

Red Rice Grain Team's Offline Public Welfare Promotion Activities

Following the conclusion of the 2020 99 Giving Day, Hongmili officially established a working group with a clear division of labor and collaborative efforts to advance FH awareness, diagnosis rates, patient services, public awareness campaigns, medical research, policy advocacy, and international exchanges in China.
Responsibilities of each group in the Red Rice Grain Team
Project Coordination Group
Responsible for following up on the work of each group, planning and implementing independent projects, and managing the daily work of the volunteer group.
Responsible for patient registration and management, daily management and maintenance of patient groups, and planning and implementation of patient assistance projects.
Responsible for the development and construction of the official website and WeChat mini-program of Hongmili, including the development of functions such as test report management, online doctor-patient consultation platform, and online patient registration.
Responsible for editing and publishing content on Hongmili's various self-media platforms, including organizing news, research progress, project progress, and designing and producing various promotional materials.
Responsible for monitoring the latest research progress in the field of FH, translating, summarizing and publishing it, contacting doctors and researchers at home and abroad, so that more experts, doctors and scholars in the medical community can understand and study FH; and establishing contact and exchanges with foreign patient organizations and foundations to bring international attention to the Chinese FH community.

"When you need to go for a follow-up examination, you often can't find the previous test results."
"There are too many lab reports, and storing them is too much trouble."
"Each individual lab report doesn't provide a clear picture of the trends in various indicators."
"It's too difficult to get an appointment at the hospital, and it's even harder to find a specialist. Are there any professional online consultation platforms for specialists?"
In response to the concerns raised by patients with FH, Hongmili invested in its technical team to build the Hongmili official website and develop a WeChat mini-program. In December, the first version of the "Hongmili Lab Report Manager" mini-program was released, which helps patients convert paper lab reports into electronic data with a single click and generates data trend charts. The trends of various indicators are clear at a glance, making it easy to manage lab reports and diseases.

The mini-program will later launch a doctor-patient communication section, enabling patients to connect with doctors and patients.FHexpertOnline consultation functionEstablish an online community for mutual exchange and sharing, and improve long-term disease management.

Currently, there is very little clinical research data on liver hepatitis (FH) in my country, including follow-up data on liver transplant patients, data on physiological changes after medication, and disease management protocols. In response, Hongmili applied for the Scarecrow Guardian Program in December 2020, and the requested funding will be used to investigate the living conditions and disease status of FH patients.

A significant characteristic of patients with febrile heart disease (FH) is their predisposition to early-onset coronary artery disease, which can lead to cardiac arrest. If effective treatment is not received within the critical four minutes of cardiac arrest, the survival rate decreases by 10% for every minute of delay, and the success rate of resuscitation after 10 minutes is almost zero. When we only know first aid, we can only save others; only when most of us understand first aid can we save ourselves! Therefore, the popularization of first aid knowledge and the effective deployment of AEDs (automated external defibrillators) are extremely important and urgent!
After more than a year of in-depth understanding and more than six months of preparation, we became an online partner of Nippon Kohden AED (a miracle device for cardiac emergency care - the semi-automatic external defibrillator), and began to promote the semi-automatic external defibrillator AED and popularize first aid knowledge.

In December, a nearly five-hour first-aid training session was conducted, enabling more people to master the correct methods of CPR and AED administration in the event of cardiac arrest in infants, children, and adults. If someone in need of help in real life were encountered, those who participated in this training would undoubtedly have the courage and ability to rush forward and provide assistance.

Our vision is to enable more Chinese people to acquire first aid knowledge and use AEDs to save lives, thereby reducing family tragedies.

For patients with familial hypercholesterolemia, in addition to taking medication on time and strictly following medical advice, they also need to pay special attention to their diet. Good lifestyle habits and dietary structure will help prevent or delay the further development of the disease and the occurrence of complications.
Therefore, a proper diet is equally important for patients with FH (Fair-Heart Disease). Hongmili began researching, planning, and preparing its R&D laboratory in April, selected a renovation company in June, and began bringing in large-scale R&D equipment in August, culminating in the completion of its product R&D center in December. This center includes: a microbiology laboratory, a central physicochemical laboratory, and a laboratory for the research and development of complementary foods and health foods.

In the future, Red Rice Grain will provide FH patients with a series of dietary guidance, health foods, and scientific dietary management programs.
The above are eight major events in Hongmi's 2020 timeline.
Every single one of these items represents an effort made for patients with FH (French Hepatitis).
Thank you to everyone who supported Redmi in 2020.
It is your strong support behind the scenes.
Let us accelerate our pace of growth.
To give more hope to patients with FH.
There is still a long way to go when it comes to public welfare.
In 2021, we will continue to work hard and make persistent efforts!
